Laura ' Shonnie' Hogue was a strong-willed, beautiful person that the Joel Jeremy Memorial Fund was helping early in 2006 because she couldn't work. Laura had breast cancer which went away for awhile, but sadly returned. It also began to spread. On Saturday at our dance in February 2006, she spoke to our gathering at the White Lake Inn. She courageously expressed how thankful she was to the Joel Jeremy Fund for helping withkeeping her household together; she didn't have to worry about shelter and food for her 2 kids and herself during a very trying time in her life. Through out all the treatments, the chemo, the radiation, Laura remained positive, up beat and strong. We're very sad to report that Laura's battle with cancer ended with her passing early in August 2006. She was a single mom with a lot of friends and a lot of class.
